If you already have a Sophos ID, make sure you know the email address and password used. (If you don’t already have a Sophos ID, you can either create one prior to starting here, or during the setup process).
Note the following ISP internet connection settings if they are not provided automatically via DHCP: IP address, Net mask, Gateway IP, DNS server IP. If an Internet connection is unavailable at this time, you can setup the device offline and register it anytime within the first 30-days.
Setup Instructions:
Install the downloaded image on your preferred hardware or virtual environment (Note: the installation will overwrite the previous operating system and all files).
Connect the WAN interface (port 2) on the device to your internet connection.
Connect a computer to the LAN interface (port 1) and access the setup screen at https://172.16.16.16:4444 (Note: it may take a few minutes for the necessary services to start before the setup screen is ready).
Follow the steps in the on-screen setup wizard.

Thank you for choosing Sophos UTM Essential Firewall Edition. You can now set up the free basic version of Sophos UTM in your organization. The information in this email will guide you through the download and installation process.
Comment installer Sophos UTM Essential Firewall Edition ?
As a software appliance, on an Intel compatible PC or in a virtual environment.
If you want to use the software appliance, you must have the following hardware configuration:
1.5 GHz processor (dual-core recommended)
1 GB of RAM (2 GB highly recommended)
60 GB hard drive
Bootable CD-ROM
At least 2 network cards
To use the virtual appliance, you must have at least:
1 Go of RAM
40 GB of IDE or SCSI disk space
2 PCI network cards
Installing the software appliance
Note: Sophos UTM Essential Firewall Edition contains its own operating system and will overwrite any data on the computer during installation. A specific computer is therefore necessary.
Download the ISO image here: https://www.sophos.com/fr-fr/support/utm-downloads.aspx
Burn this image to a CD.
Insert the CD and restart the PC you want to dedicate to Sophos UTM from the CD-ROM drive.
Follow the on-screen installation instructions. The WebAdmin URL will be displayed during the final step of the installation.
Point your browser to the Web Configuration Tool (ie WebAdmin).
Follow the wizard instructions to set up a basic configuration.
Upload the attached Sophos UTM Essential Firewall license file in Management >> Licensing

Please click on the activation link to activate your account.

Upgrade to the full version of Sophos UTM
At any time, you can upgrade to the full version of Sophos UTM. Please contact a local Sophos partner to learn more about the following security subscriptions:
